Ozzy Osbourne and Billy Morrison released their collaborative single “Gods of Rock N Roll” on February 14. This song is a revamp of Morrison’s “Gods” from 2015, which also had Osbourne on vocals. The new rendition features a 61-piece orchestra along with guitar by Steve Stevens. In an interview with Kerrang!, Osbourne reflected on how this newer version took a decade to come to fruition.

The idea for “Gods Of Rock N Roll” came about when Osbourne and Morrison wrote it together in a South American hotel room ten years prior. Osbourne emphasized the importance of having an orchestra and choir in the song from the very beginning, and it finally came to fruition with the latest rendition.

Morrison shared his thoughts on the revamped version, stating that he and Osbourne have brought new life to what they always saw as a significant song. “Gods Of Rock N Roll” was initially penned during their stay in a South American hotel, and now, they feel that they have captured the essence of the song as it was always intended to be – a grand, emotive ballad.

In a recent announcement, Black Sabbath revealed their farewell concert, Back To The Beginning. The band, featuring Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, will perform at Villa Park in Birmingham. Osbourne expressed his excitement about returning to his birthplace and the birthplace of heavy metal, highlighting the significance of celebrating in Birmingham.

The event will be a full-day celebration with performances from heavyweights like Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice in Chains, and Gojira. Back To The Beginning is scheduled for July 5, promising an unforgettable gathering of rock and metal icons.
