Underoath has unveiled details about their upcoming album, titled The Place After This One, set to be released on March 28, 2025, through MNRK Heavy. The record is said to blend the infectious pop hooks of their recent work with the raw, unfiltered rage that first garnered the band attention. This forthcoming release marks a significant evolution for the group, as they explore a fusion of hard rock, electronic elements, piercing screams, and anthemic sing-alongs. Fans have been treated to a string of singles over the past year, such as “Generation No Surrender,” “Survivor’s Guilt,” and “Teeth.”

Guitarist Tim McTague delved into the album’s central concept, stating, “The Place After This One encapsulates a multifaceted idea. It reflects our upbringing—sheltered and steeped in spirituality—and the challenge of reconciling it with the current age. Underoath, still intact yet transformed, has weathered plenty of chaos. I find a certain beauty in the notion of not abandoning everything when faced with adversity, whether it’s faith, relationships, or creative endeavors. There’s an underlying belief that there is a realm beyond our current state, perhaps with the same people, the same God, or within the same community. The concept is a reflection of the compound nature of life’s experiences—retaining the good and eliminating the bad.”

Accompanying this announcement, the band has released a new track and music video for “All The Love Is Gone.” Vocalist Spencer Chamberlain described the song as bold and experimental, drawing inspiration from artists like The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Noisia, Justice, and The Streets. He emphasized the song’s darker undertones, aiming to capture the heaviness synonymous with Underoath’s sound. Chamberlain explained the track’s lyrical content, commenting, “I penned the lyrics from a place we all find ourselves when things take a turn for the worse. It’s a mindset I actively avoid amid chaos in my life. We’ve all experienced that night at the bar where everything seems to crumble—be it the end of a relationship, the loss of a loved one, or a sudden job loss. It’s a daunting experience, one I strive never to revisit. This song serves as a reminder of that place I never want to return to.”

With its compelling blend of genres, thematic depth, and introspective lyrics, Underoath’s upcoming album promises to be a powerful and immersive listening experience for fans and newcomers alike. Stay tuned for the release of The Place After This One on March 28th, 2025, and dive into the band’s musical evolution as they continue to push boundaries and redefine their sound.
