John Dwyer from Osees Teams Up with David Barbarossa of Adam and the Ants to Create CHIME OBLIVION

John Dwyer, the mastermind behind Osees, has joined forces with David Barbarossa, known for his work with Adam and the Ants and Bow Wow Wow, to create a new band called CHIME OBLIVION. This exciting project also features Weasel Walter, Tom Dolas from Osees, Brad Caulkins from Bent Arcana, and H.L. Nelly. Their debut album is set to be released on April 18 through Deathgod, formerly known as Castleface.

The inception of CHIME OBLIVION came about when Barbarossa approached Dwyer, leading them to meet at an Osees concert in London. Dwyer shared, “I reached out to David and suggested that we try and write some songs together… I flew David out, we met at my studio and spent five days writing basin drums ideas.” He then brought in Walter, Dolas, and Nelly, whom he felt could embody the vocal style he envisioned for the project.

Described as music “for fans of Adam and the Ants, Bow Wow Wow, Crass, the Slits and any other weirdo punk we fell in love with as youths,” CHIME OBLIVION promises to deliver a unique sound that resonates with fans of alternative and punk music.

To give listeners a taste of what’s to come, Dwyer and the band have released their debut single “NEIGHBORHOOD DOG,” setting the stage for their upcoming album. The tracklist for their self-titled debut includes songs like “INCIDENTAL SYNTH 5,” “KISS HER OR BE HER,” “THE FIEND,” “HEATED HORSES,” “THE UNINVITED GUEST,” and more, totaling fifteen tracks that showcase the diverse range of the band’s musical offerings.

The collaboration between Dwyer, Barbarossa, and the rest of CHIME OBLIVION promises to be a compelling fusion of talent and creativity.
