Valentyne Releases New Video/Single “Hate Me”
Valentyne, the Manchester Alt Rock band, is making waves with their latest single and video release, “Hate Me”, set to be launched on the 14th of February. Embodying influences from Royal Blood, Wolf Alice, Radiohead, and Deftones, Valentyne showcases a uniquely gloomy and hauntingly beautiful sound that sets them apart in the music scene.
Consisting of George Webster on Guitar, Charlotte Isobel on Vocals, Thomas Webster on Guitar, Emma Taylor on Bass, and Rob Downey on Drums, Valentyne was formed in the winter of 2023. Their alternative rock style offers a distorted yet nostalgic take on youth and lost love, combined with a dark intrigue that invites listeners to explore deeper into their music.
In 2024, the band released singles “Under The Skin” and “Serenity”, which garnered national radio support from BBC Radio 1, Radio Lancashire, and Amazing Radio, marking a successful debut for the group. The subsequent single, “Hate Me”, maintains their momentum with its raw and visceral delivery, resonating with classic Pop-Punk influences like Paramore, My Chemical Romance, and Avril Lavigne. The track captures the complexities of a first love, building to a heart-wrenching climax that draws listeners in.
Featuring thunderous drums, wailing guitars, and haunting vocals by lead singer Charlotte Isobel, “Hate Me” challenges listeners to shed their inhibitions and embrace the anthemic chorus. George describes the inspiration behind the track as a reflection of how relationships can become twisted, leading us to push away those we love and give them reasons to hate us. The emotional intensity of the song delves into themes of fighting, cheating, and pushing each other to the breaking point.
Valentyne is gearing up for a local show at Sacred Trinity Church in Salford on the 21st of March, promising an immersive live experience for fans. As they continue to captivate audiences with their unique blend of alt-rock and emotional storytelling, Valentyne remains a band to watch in the music landscape.
