A new track and music video have been revealed by the Welsh post-hardcore band MCLUSKY for their upcoming album. The song, ‘Way Of The Exploding Dickhead,’ is a glimpse into The World Is Still Here And So Are We, their first album in two decades, set to release on May 9 under Ipecac Recordings.
Andrew Falkous from MCLUSKY provides insight into the inspiration behind the song, explaining that the title draws from an influential video game called ‘The Way Of The Exploding Fist’ on the ZX Spectrum. The lyrics delve into the frenzy generated by the escalating prices of tickets to witness a remote band performance, crafting a contemporary narrative infused with raw energy and emotion.
The forthcoming album, The World Is Still Here And So Are We, is currently open for pre-orders. For fans eagerly anticipating MCLUSKY’s return after two eventful years, the new album promises a renewed musical spirit and raw authenticity that the band is known for.
In conjunction with the album release, Mclusky will be embarking on a series of live performances across various locations. The post-hardcore trio is geared up for an electrifying lineup of shows, starting with Wrexham, UK, at The Rockin’ Chair on May 8, followed by Brussels, BE, at Les Nuits Botaniques on May 18, alongside The Jesus Lizard. The band will continue their tour with performances in Manchester, UK, at Gorilla on May 23, Leeds, UK, at Brudenell on May 24, London, UK, at Electric Ballroom on May 29, and concluding in Bristol, UK, at SWX on May 31.
