Allegaeon reveals details of upcoming album and debuts music video for “Driftwood”
Allegaeon, a progressive technical death metal band hailing from Colorado, recently revealed that their upcoming album “The Ossuary Lens” is set to hit the shelves on April 4th through the renowned Metal Blade Records. In anticipation of this release, the quintet unleashed a brand-new music video for their track “Driftwood.”
Guitarist Greg Burgess shared his thoughts on the significance of “Driftwood,” stating that the song has a unique place in Allegaeon’s history. Originally composed for their album “Apoptosis” by the band’s bassist Booboo, the track initially exuded a highly technical death metal vibe that didn’t quite align with Allegaeon’s distinctive sound at the time. Fast forward six years, as preparations for the new album unfolded, Burgess revisited the piece, seeking permission from Booboo to rework it and mold it to seamlessly fit within the Allegaeon sound. The outcome was simply outstanding, highlighting the importance of preserving ideas as they may resurface in unexpected ways.
Fans can already pre-order “The Ossuary Lens,” an album that promises to deliver a thrilling musical journey. The tracklist includes songs such as “Refraction,” “Chaos Theory,” “Dies Irae,” “The Swarm,” and many more. Notably, the album features a collaboration with talented musician Adrian Bellue on the track “Dark Matter Dynamics.”
