K-Pop Superstars NewJeans Reveal New Branding and Name

K-pop sensation NewJeans has officially rebranded and emerged as NJZ following unresolved legal conflicts with their former label, ADOR. The group’s members, Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, shared the news on February 7, 2025, marking a new direction for their careers.
Sources reveal that NJZ’s rebranding coincides with the announcement of fresh music described as unique and innovative, set for release next month. NJZ is also set to headline the ComplexCon Hong Kong festival from March 21 to 23, with their new track making its debut on the festival’s final day.
The decision to rebrand reflects a series of events that began in August 2024, when Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR and a key figure in NewJeans’ inception, was removed from her position. Despite the group’s efforts to reinstate her, their endeavors proved unsuccessful. In November 2024, NewJeans terminated their exclusive agreement with ADOR, citing breaches and insufficient protection. ADOR contests the legitimacy of this termination and has taken legal action to uphold the contract.
Nevertheless, NJZ remains committed to producing music and moving forward amid these challenges, demonstrating loyalty to their fans and a dedication to their musical future.
