Heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne recently shared some heartbreaking news regarding his health, revealing that he is no longer able to walk as he gears up for his final live performance. In a candid conversation on his SiriusXM program Ozzy’s Boneyard, the 76-year-old musician opened up about reaching the year 2025 and reflecting on his physical limitations, stating, “I may be moaning that I can’t walk, but I look down the road, and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

The news of Osbourne’s final show, slated for July 5 in his hometown of Birmingham, England, has created a buzz among fans. This highly anticipated event will mark the return of Black Sabbath, the iconic heavy metal band with its original lineup, for their first performance together since 2005, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of music. Additional stellar performances are expected from Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Pantera, Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, and Grammy Award-winners Gojira.

Renowned songwriter and former Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello has been named the music director for the event, hyping up the show as “the greatest heavy metal show ever.” More importantly, the concert will also serve as a charitable event, with proceeds benefiting Cure Parkinson’s, a UK-based organization dedicated to finding a cure for the disease that Osbourne was diagnosed with in 2019.

Osbourne’s wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, spoke about the significance of the show, highlighting that it represents a meaningful way for Osbourne to conclude his illustrious career marked by various health setbacks and concert cancellations in recent years. She expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “He’s so excited about this, about being with the guys again and all his friends. It’s exciting for everyone.” Sharon also emphasized that this show would offer Osbourne a proper farewell to his fans and friends, serving as a definitive endpoint in his musical journey.

Addressing concerns about Osbourne’s health, Sharon assured fans that despite his battle with Parkinson’s disease, his passion for music remains unwavering. She mentioned that Parkinson’s is a progressive condition affecting various body parts, primarily impacting his ability to walk, yet his voice remains as powerful as ever.

In a separate event, Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart has announced his upcoming project, “Dave Does Dylan,” celebrating the timeless music of legendary musician Bob Dylan. Scheduled for release on April 12 as part of Record Store Day, the album features live, one-take covers of Dylan’s classic tracks performed solely with guitar and vocals by Stewart. The record will encompass a range of Dylan’s songs from the ’60s to the present day, paying homage to the poetic brilliance of the folk icon.

Stewart shared his deep connection with Dylan’s music, recounting his early experiences performing Dylan covers at local clubs as a teenager, expressing his admiration for Dylan’s artistic vision and revolutionary spirit. Dylan himself praised Stewart’s creative prowess, hailing him as a visionary artist who effortlessly integrates genius into his work without pretense, thereby solidifying Stewart’s place as a fearless innovator in the music industry.

The anticipation for these two monumental musical events continues to grow, offering fans a chance to celebrate the enduring legacies of Ozzy Osbourne and Bob Dylan while honoring their contributions to the world of rock and roll.
