Leigh Nash, the talented singer-songwriter hailing from Texas and now based in Nashville, is making waves with her latest collaborative EP, “The Tide.” After achieving massive success as the lead singer of Sixpence None The Richer in the early 2000s, Nash’s solo artistry shines through on this new release.

Having been in the music industry for over three decades, Nash’s growth and evolution as an artist are evident in “The Tide.” The EP features collaborations with notable artists such as Vince Gill, Tanya Tucker, and Tears For Fears co-founder Roland Orzabal. With her ability to blend genres seamlessly, Nash draws from her country roots and pop success to create a sound that is uniquely her own.

Reflecting on her journey, Nash shares that she believes she was put on Earth to use her voice in a way that requires her to be her best self. For her, the act of doing good through her music goes beyond awards and charts, touching people on both a conscious and subconscious level.

“The Tide” is Nash’s seventh solo release in her two-decade long career. Demonstrating her growth as an artist from her early days as a teenage performer inspired by country legends like Tanya Tucker and Loretta Lynn to a seasoned musician with a flair for pop success, Nash’s versatility shines through in every track.

Featuring an impressive lineup of collaborators, including artists like Ruby Amanfu, CeCe Winans, and Wendy Moten, “The Tide” showcases Nash’s emotional evolution as a lyricist. Most of the songs on the EP are sweeping ballads crafted while sitting at the piano, allowing Nash to delve deep into her emotions and craft meaningful lyrics.

One of the standout collaborations on the EP is with Tears For Fears’ Roland Orzabal on the track “Unravelling.” Orzabal describes Nash’s voice as “like melted chocolate, whiskey, and cigar smoke,” and working with her on the song was a transformative experience.

Looking back on her career and the music she has created over the years, Nash expresses gratitude for being able to remain relevant and gifted in the industry for such a long time. She sees her body of work as a river that continues to flow, leading her to a peaceful place where she can create warm, timeless, and unique music.

With “The Tide,” Leigh Nash cements her status as a talented and enduring artist, showcasing her growth, versatility, and emotional depth. From her roots in country music to her success in pop, Nash’s music resonates with listeners on a profound level, making her a standout figure in the music industry.
