As I Lay Dying pulled from Welcome To Rockville, Miss May I added
As I Lay Dying will no longer be gracing the stage at Welcome To Rockville 2025, as they have been replaced by Miss May I. This change comes after a tumultuous period for As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis, involving conflicts with his former bandmates and his ex-wife.
The saga began when members of As I Lay Dying started distancing themselves from Lambesis just before the band’s planned European tour to promote their latest album, Shaped By Fire, resulting in the tour’s cancellation. Among those who parted ways with Lambesis was Austrian Death Machine drummer Brandon Short.
During this time, videos emerged showing Lambesis and his ex-wife, Dany, engaged in intense arguments, with Dany later releasing a statement addressing abuse allegations. In an attempt to address the public scrutiny, Lambesis appeared on personal branding coach Justin Wenzel’s podcast to discuss the recent developments, including the band members leaving, the leaked videos, and his personal struggles with anxiety.
Despite this effort to shed light on the situation, another video emerged showing Lambesis allegedly mistreating his dog, prompting further controversy. While some argue that the interaction was harmless, the video only added to the negative attention surrounding Lambesis and As I Lay Dying.
In light of these events, the organizers of Welcome To Rockville made the decision to replace As I Lay Dying with Miss May I on the festival lineup. Miss May I will be performing on Friday, May 16th, at North America’s Largest Rock Festival, in place of As I Lay Dying.
Furthermore, the event organizers announced that they are now booking the lineup for the 2025 on-site Pre-Party, which will be free for all campers. They encouraged attendees to suggest bands they would like to see added to the lineup by tagging them in the comments for review by the booking team.
As fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming festival, the change in lineup reflects the challenges faced by As I Lay Dying and the impact of the controversies surrounding Tim Lambesis. Miss May I’s addition to the Welcome To Rockville 2025 lineup offers attendees an exciting alternative, as they prepare to rock out at one of the premier rock festivals in North America.
