W.E.T. reveals upcoming album ‘Apex’
International rock powerhouse W.E.T. has revealed plans for their upcoming studio album, “Apex”, scheduled for release on March 28, 2025, under Frontiers Music Srl. The band has unveiled the single “Where Are The Heroes Now,” accompanied by a lyric video.
Guitarist Erik Mårtensson provides insight into the latest track, expressing enthusiasm for the collaboration with vocalist Jeff Scott Soto and the band’s outstanding musicianship. Mårtensson praises the instrumental prowess displayed in the song, particularly highlighting the remarkable solo by Magnus Henriksson towards the end.
The theme of “Where Are The Heroes Now” encapsulates a blend of darkness and hope, reflecting on the adversities and trials faced in the past and those that lie ahead. The track conveys a yearning for guidance and light amidst challenging circumstances, offering a poignant message within its powerful melodies.
“Apex,” the band’s fifth studio album, marks a significant milestone in W.E.T.’s journey, exuding confidence in their creative evolution. Featuring eleven tracks characterized by memorable choruses and catchy tunes, the record promises a fusion of robust energy and melodic finesse.
The band’s moniker, W.E.T., stems from the collective members’ affiliations with other renowned rock bands. With Robert Säll and Andreas Passmark from WORK OF ART, Erik Mårtensson and Magnus Henriksson from ECLIPSE, and Jeff Scott Soto from TALISMAN, the collaboration boasts a wealth of musical expertise. Additionally, TALISMAN drummer Jamie Borger has recently become an integral part of W.E.T., enhancing the ensemble’s original core lineup.
W.E.T. stands at the forefront of modern melodic rock, aiming to redefine the genre with a contemporary edge. Their sound, meticulously crafted under the helm of Erik Martensson, strikes a balance between classic rock elements and a fresh, innovative approach.
Despite originating as a side project to the members’ primary bands, W.E.T. has solidified its presence over the past 15 years through four studio albums and a live record. Commencing with their debut self-titled album, followed by “Rise Up” and “Earthrage,” the band has consistently delivered exceptional music. Their latest offering, “Retransmission,” upholds the high standards set by its predecessors, embodying a legacy of timeless rock tunes.
Reflecting on the challenges of coordinating schedules between band members located in different countries, Mårtensson emphasizes the significance of making the most of each opportunity to create music together. The band’s dedication to producing quality music shines through in their latest album, “Apex.”
With an impressive lineup consisting of Jeff Scott Soto on vocals, Erik Mårtensson on vocals and guitars, Robert Säll on guitars, Magnus Henriksson on guitars, Andreas Passmark on bass, and Jamie Borger on drums, W.E.T. continues to captivate audiences with their distinctive sound and impactful performances.
