Mayday’s Epic 25th Anniversary Concert: A Star-Studded Event
Mayday recently celebrated their 25th anniversary with a star-studded gig at the National Stadium in Singapore. Lead vocalist Ashin surprised fans by hinting that the band might not return to Singapore anytime soon, as they plan to work on a new album after their current tour. Despite the uncertainty, Mayday put on an unforgettable show, performing a whopping three hours and 20 minutes set with over 40 songs from all nine of their albums.
Fans were treated to classic hits like Minnan Peter And Mary, Tenderness, and Dokodemo Door, as well as rare gems like 9-Ball. The excitement was palpable as Taiwanese boy band Energy took the stage to perform their hit song Return To The World with Mayday, showcasing their incredible energy and dance moves.
The concert was not just about the music, as Mayday wowed the audience with a visually stunning set featuring a giant LED sphere and floating balls that transformed into different shapes throughout the show. The band even rode around the stadium in an open-top “Mayday Express” bus, getting everyone on their feet and dancing along to their high-energy tracks.
Long-time fans also got to enjoy a trip down memory lane, spotting familiar images from past Mayday concert tours projected on stage. Despite the uncertainty of when Mayday will return to Singapore, they have left their fans with plenty of amazing memories to hold on to.
