Lacuna Coil Drops Intense New Single “Gravity” – Don’t Miss It!
Lacuna Coil, the gothic metal veterans, are gearing up for the release of their 10th studio album, “Sleepless Empire”, set to drop on February 14th, 2025, via Century Media Records. This album marks their first studio endeavor since 2019’s “Black Anima”.
Teasing fans with a taste of what’s to come, Lacuna Coil has been steadily releasing singles from the upcoming album. Tracks like “Never Dawn”, “In the Mean Time” featuring Ash Costello, and “Hosting the Shadow” featuring Randy Blythe were shared leading up to the fall announcement of the album. In the fall, the band confirmed the album’s release with the unveiling of their fourth single, “Oxygen”.
Lead by producer Marco “Maki” Coti Zelati, the album took shape during the Comalies XX sessions of 2022. Now, as the band builds anticipation for the 2025 release, they have dropped a fifth single from the album, featuring a visually striking music video to accompany it. The track “Gravity” showcases the band’s trademark sound with a powerful vocal exchange between Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro.
In a recent statement, the band shared the thematic importance of “Gravity”, touching on the theme of balance in desperate times and the existential questioning of how to navigate through tough periods, whether by reaching out for help or retreating into isolation. They hope the song inspires reflection on time and its wise use.
“Sleepless Empire” as a whole serves as the band’s response to the disconnect brought on by the digital age, capturing the chaos of a generation entangled in a digital world where social media erodes identity. Lacuna Coil sees this album as a rebellion against the loss of true identity in a fast-paced digital landscape.
Alongside the album release, Lacuna Coil has tour dates lined up, starting with Latin America and Mexico in March. They will also be joining Machine Head on their North American tour, sharing the stage with In Flames and Unearth.
