Destroyer reveals latest album and releases new single “Bologna”
Canadian rock band Destroyer has excited fans by revealing details about their upcoming album, Dan’s Boogie, set to be released on March 28 via Merge Records. Alongside this announcement, they have also dropped a new single titled “Bologna,” accompanied by a music video directed by David Galloway. This latest track is particularly interesting as it marks a departure for frontman Dan Bejar, who has taken on a supporting character role in the lyrics. The song features vocals from Fiver’s Simone Schmidt, who also appears in the video.
Bejar shared his thoughts on the song, saying, “I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna.’ I struggled with the emotional depth of the first and third verses, which needed to convey a sense of urgency and despair. That’s when I knew I needed Simone’s voice to bring the song to life.”
Fans can look forward to seeing Destroyer perform live as they hit the road with Father John Misty next month. Additionally, the band is set to take the stage at Primavera 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. Check out the tracklist for Dan’s Boogie, featuring songs like “The Same Thing as Nothing at All” and “Hydroplaning Off the Edge of the World.”
