SOM’s Upcoming Album “Let The Light In” – Release Date Revealed!
Som, the U.S. post-metal/shoegaze band, is gearing up to release their third full-length album, “Let The Light In,” on March 14 through Pelagic Records. Recently, they dropped a music video for the first single, “Give Blood,” directed by Alex Pace.
Featuring former and current members of Caspian, Rosetta, Junius, and Constants, Som’s new album is a powerful testament to resilience and evolution. Fueled by challenges and change, the album invites listeners to navigate darkness and seek the light within themselves.
The creation of “Let The Light In” wasn’t without its obstacles. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the band’s drummer left during the writing and recording process, prompting a period of reshaping and refocusing in 2023. The result is a raw yet melodically rich album that delves deep into human emotions, guiding us towards growth and enlightenment.
While their debut album, “The Fall,” explored rock bottom and their sophomore release, “The Shape of Everything,” delved into the darkening world, “Let The Light In” turns inward. It focuses on seeking solace and reconciliation within ourselves and our relationships.
SOM has been actively touring across North America, Europe, and the UK since 2019. Their live performances alongside bands like Katatonia, Solstafir, and Slow Crush, combined with their introspective restructuring in 2023, have significantly influenced their creative direction. Be sure to check out the music video for “Give Blood” and stay tuned for the release of “Let The Light In” on March 14.
